Crosstex Energy Appoints Frank Burke to Board DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2003--Crosstex Energy, L.P.
(NasdaqNM:XTEX), a Texas-based midstream natural gas company, today
announced Frank Burke has been appointed to serve on the company's
Board of Directors. Mr. Burke will also serve as Chairman of the Audit
Committee of Crosstex Energy GP, LLC.
"Mr. Burke brings expertise to us in a variety of areas including
tax, audit, legislation, management and investments," said Barry
Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Crosstex. "In
addition, he has an extensive experience serving on the boards of
numerous public companies and will be an invaluable resource for
Crosstex."
Mr. Burke has served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and
Managing General Partner of Burke, Mayborn Company Ltd, a private
investment company located in Dallas, Texas, since 1984. He is a
member of the National Petroleum Council and also serves as a director
of Dorchester Minerals, L.P., Arch Coal, Inc., Kaneb Pipe Line
Partners, L.P., Xanser Corporation and Kaneb Services LLC.
Prior to Mr. Burke's current position, he worked for Peat,
Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) for more than 20 years. He held
several key positions including partner in charge of the tax
department, board member, chairman of the energy group and national
director of energy and natural resources in the United States. During
his career with Peat Marwick, Burke provided tax, financial and
management consulting to companies involved in oil and gas, real
estate, mining, utilities, communications, agribusiness and
manufacturing.
Mr. Burke received his bachelor of business administration and
master of business administration from Texas Tech University and his
juris doctor from Southern Methodist University. He is a certified
public accountant and member of the State Bar of Texas.
Crosstex Energy, L.P., a midstream natural gas company
headquartered in Dallas, operates over 1,700 miles of pipeline, two
processing plants, and over 40 natural gas amine treating plants.
