ExxonMobil Announces Mobil Delvac Agriculture Scholarship Program; Scholarship Program Opened to College Agriculture Students Nationwide FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2005--Demonstrating its
commitment to the future of the U.S. agriculture sector, ExxonMobil
today announced that for the third straight year it will be offering
its "Mobil Delvac(R) Agricultural Scholarship," which will provide
$4,000 to three students pursuing a college degree at an accredited
U.S. agriculture school.
Scholarship winners will be selected from responses to one of two
essay categories and one photo/graphic category centered on this
year's theme of "Command Performance."
"ExxonMobil has a long history of support for educational
initiatives," said Vernon Solis, commercial vehicle, fleet and
off-highway lubricants advisor, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties.
"The renewal of our highly successful 'Mobil Delvac Agricultural
Scholarship' program provides another example of our commitment to
education and the future of the U.S. agricultural sector. Since
initiating our agricultural scholarship program in 2003, we have been
extremely impressed with the creative and insightful responses we
received from agriculture students from across the nation."
Judged by a panel of agriculture industry experts, submissions for
the Mobil Delvac Agricultural Scholarship can be entered in one of
three categories:
-- Essay 1:
How does superior equipment performance contribute to a farm's
success?
-- Essay 2:
Describe an item in use on today's farms that comprises a
relatively small portion of total operating costs, yet has
a significant impact on farm performance.
-- Photo/Graphics:
Submit an original photograph or drawing, along with 100 words
or less, depicting superior farm equipment performance.
Deadlines for applications are June 30, 2005, and can be submitted
