Cavanaugh Named Human Resources Vice President for Exxon Mobil Corporation

IRVING, Texas (December 13, 2001) -- Exxon Mobil Corporation has announced the anticipated election of Lucille J. Cavanaugh as vice president, human resources of Exxon Mobil Corporation effective January 1, 2002. She succeeds Timothy J. Hearn, who will become president and a director of Imperial Oil Limited (Toronto, Canada), an affiliate of ExxonMobil.

Ms. Cavanaugh is currently the vice president, global supply and distribution for ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company in Fairfax, Virginia. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ms. Cavanaugh joined the company in 1977 and holds a bachelor's degree from Immaculata College.

She has held a variety of marketing, supply, and refining management and supervisory positions including general manager of supply and engineering, president of Mobil Credit Corporation, and general manager of West Coast refining and marketing.

Prior to her current position, she was the managing director of Mobil Asia Pacific Ltd., responsible for refining and marketing operations in Asia.

A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Mr. Hearn joined Imperial Oil as a marketing representative in 1967 after graduating from the University of Manitoba. He advanced through increasingly responsible management assignments in marketing, logistics, and systems and computer services. He was named vice president of marketing retail in 1986 and vice president of marketing retail and commercial business in 1990.

In 1992, Mr. Hearn transferred to Exxon Chemical Company, Houston, as worldwide vice president of Intermediates. In 1994 he became president, Exxon Chemical Asia Pacific headquartered in Singapore. In 1997 he returned to the United States to become executive assistant to the chairman of Exxon. In February of 1998, he was named to his current position.
