small business community, which makes up nearly 60 percent of GeoCities' 19 million unique monthly visitors.
"The GeoCities agreement is part of our strategic plan to grow

growing communities on the Internet, will be able to directly link to
Staples.com from GeoCities "Shopping Center" area and through rotating
banner advertisements throughout the site. Staples.com will be the

link visitors from their individual home pages to the Staples.com Web
site. The Homesteaders will earn a commission based on Staples.com
sales that are generated from their home pages. Staples.com will be
the exclusive office supplies merchant for the affiliates program,
which was announced today.

be highly visible across the Internet community. And GeoCities has the
world's fifth largest audience reach."
"We are excited to have such a nationally well-known retailer
like Staples be one of the first companies to join GeoCities' Pages
that Pay program," said Thomas R. Evans, president and chief executive
