Fatality at Karvina Mine
New World Resources Plc ('NWR' or the 'Company') regrets to announce a fatality at the Karvina Mine of OKD, a.s. ('OKD'), its Czech subsidiary.
A 42-year-old miner was fatally injured on Thursday 14 July as a result of a rock bounce, approximately 1,020 metres underground. Another miner was taken to hospital to receive further medical examination.
NWR expresses its deepest condolences to the immediate family and relatives of the deceased miner.
An investigative committee comprising members of the Ostrava Mining Authority, Karvina Mine management, OKD management and the Trade Union is now conducting a full enquiry into the event.
