Thierry Chassagne Named President Warner Music France
Paul-Rene Albertini, Chairman and CEO, Warner Music International, (WMI) today announced the appointment of Thierry Chassagne, as President, Warner Music France. Chassagne reports directly to Paul-Rene Albertini.
A former leader at Sony Music France and V2 Music France, with 18 years experience in the French music business, Chassagne's new role gives him overall responsibility for Warner Music's French company, as well as continued operational responsibility for UpMusic, the label he founded in 2002. UpMusic, within 18 months, increased market share 2%, with 8 singles in the top 10 (including 4 at number 1) and 6 albums in the top 20.
Chassagne has developed and championed a roster of French artists including: platinum acts as diverse as Isabelle Boulay, Lorie, Passi and most recently Tragedie. Additionally, Thierry has strong expertise in developing international repertoire in France where he was responsible for the introduction and marketing of Jamiroquai, Sade, Oasis, Jimmy Cliff, Shakira, Fugees.

The French Music Market is the fourth largest music market worldwide accounting for seven percent of world sales according to IFPI 2003 World Sales Report.
