Imperial Sugar Company Announces Update Regarding Annual Report and Form 10-K

SUGAR LAND, Texas, Dec 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Imperial Sugar Company (NASDAQ:IPSU) announced today that they will not file their Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended September 30, 2010, which is due today, and will not hold their conference call with investors scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Eastern today. The Company indicated that they were reviewing the recording of expenditures charged to repair and maintenance expense to determine if any should be recorded as capital improvements, in light of the significant costs incurred in connection with the restart of the Company's Port Wentworth refinery. The Company hopes to complete their review and file the Form 10-K by December 29, 2010, and to reschedule their conference call with investors once the filing has been made.
