TAM Selects Goodrich to Provide Nacelle and Thrust Reverser Service for A320 Fleet Goodrich to establish its first ever presence in Brazil CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 18, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- TAM, Brazil's largest
airline, has selected Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) to supply a nacelle and
thrust reverser repair service program for its entire fleet of A320 aircraft.
Under the current memorandum of understanding, Goodrich plans to establish its
first ever presence in Sao Carlos, Brazil to perform the service work.
Goodrich anticipates opening a certified repair station in Sao Carlos
later this year. The planned 30,000-square-foot facility will initially
require 20-30 employees. The specialized technicians on-site will focus on
repairing IAE/V2500-A5 engine inlets, fan cowls, and thrust reversers. Longer
term, capabilities to repair the same components for CFM56-5B and the CF680E1
engine nacelle systems are also expected to be established.
