IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2007--Fluor Corporation (NYSE:FLR) today announced that it has appointed Ian Thomas, OBE, as senior vice president of its Corporate Strategy & Emerging Markets Group, with a broad business development brief specifically in the U.K. and around the globe.

Thomas joins from international project management and engineering group AMEC plc, where for more than 10 years he was business development director and a member of the senior management committee reporting directly to the chief executive officer.

John Hopkins, who heads both Fluor's Government and Corporate Strategy & Emerging Markets Groups, said, "Ian Thomas is a well-respected businessman not only in the U.K. but around the globe. In his new role, Thomas will report to Hopkins.

He was appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by The Queen in Her Majesty's Birthday Honours List 2006 for services to British business interests in Southeast Asia.

Thomas is also a trustee of NGO Engineers Against Poverty and of the U.K.-Japan 21st Century Group. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Meridiam, a European infrastructure fund.
